CURRENT ARCHAEOLOGY 15TH ISSUE MUKİŞ

This time, we are at the point where we stop, in Anatolia in the 2nd millennium BC, the Hittites and their neighbors. The guest of our new issue with the main subject of the Mukiş Kingdom and Alalakh is the Çukurova Region and its surroundings… There are four important articles within this theme. All the details of the war of existence that Alalakh, the center and capital of the Mukiş Kingdom, waged within the balance of power between the regions in the 2nd millennium BC are interpreted and given together with the recent excavation works.

Tatarlı Mound excavation is an important excavation that began to have a say in Kizzuwatna-Hittite relations, extending from the Cilicia Mountains to the Ceyhan Plain, without straying too far from Anatolia in the 2nd millennium BC. While reading about the work carried out at Tatarlı Mound, we also feel how "alive" archaeology actually is. Although the work here is still very new, the findings that have been unearthed increase our excitement.

The other two important articles are studies that will give new ideas to both the reader and the researchers, and make them say "why not", about understanding the geography of Anatolia in the 2nd millennium BC, and about how some wrongs can be right or some right can be wrong, rather than the excavation side of archaeology.
