The ancient city of Knidos, located on the western coast of Turkey, is a hidden treasure with its unspoiled natural and historical values. Its extraordinary beauty, consisting of volcanic rocks and mostly untouched vegetation, and its mild climate with cool winds blowing even in the hottest summer months, are the features that make this archaeological site attractive. In addition to being located at the tip of a long peninsula, its rugged topography makes it difficult to reach here by road. For this reason, most visitors prefer the sea route. However, those who prefer the somewhat challenging road have the chance to travel among various natural beauties such as pine forests, red-black volcanic rocks formed by cooled lava, and extensive almond and olive groves, which form the main source of income in the region. After the last section of the road passing through the necropolis area, a uniquely beautiful view overlooking the terraces and ports of Knidos is encountered.

Despite the excavation activities that have been carried out in the site for years, its remote island-like location, far from the touristic route with its heavy traffic, has ensured that Knidos has remained untouched. This guidebook aims to both inform visitors about this important ancient city and to enable these visitors to tour the site more easily. The order of the architectural monuments defined in the booklet has been prepared in accordance with the tour route preferred by most visitors. Priority has been given to structures that can be seen well and whose excavations have been completed. Monuments that are difficult to reach, such as the Great Theatre, and areas such as the Muzalar Sanctuary and the Necropolis have been briefly mentioned.

In this new edition of the guidebook, old information has been revised and structures and findings unearthed during excavations, especially in recent years, have been added to this book.
