This book was prepared to commemorate the beginning of the archaeological excavations of the ancient city of PARION (Çanakkale-Biga-Kemer Village) located in the north-east of the Troas Region and is a detailed study of one of the first important findings, the Bronze Amphora-Situla. It was remembered in memory of Paris from Parion who grew up in Ida (Kazdağı) and spent his youth here; Parion is the city of the handsome Anatolian young man who chose the most beautiful woman of the ancient world. Paris is the youngest son of the King of Troy, Priam, and was left in Ida when he was a baby because he thought he would bring disaster to Troy; but later he found his way to Parion and spent his youth in Parion.
Parion, which was rescued from its long-term neglect and silence, was awakened from its deep sleep with the sounds of pickaxes and shovels that started with the arrival of our team in 2005, and its cultural richness began to be introduced to the world of archaeology. Except for the rescue excavation carried out by the Çanakkale Archaeology Museum in 2004, the sleeping giant Parion is waking up from the silent mound of soil on top of it with the archaeological work that has been started in the Southern Necropolis since 2005 and continues to expand every day, and it opens its mysterious doors to scientists. Despite all the difficulties experienced, the idea of ''Parion is a love...'' is being excavated with a success and devotion that is not easily achieved.
In this study, it is aimed to re-evaluate the Bronze Amphora-situla, which was found in the Southern Necropolis during the first period of Parion excavations in 2005 and has been the subject of various studies, in this monographic study, taking into account the scientific results revealed by the developing Parion excavations.
